Michigan Lottery
The Michigan lottery was introduced in late 1972 after residents voted overwhelmingly in favour of a state-run lottery. Although restricted to selling instant tickets in its early years, it has since expanded to include a variety of draw-based games including the multi-state lotteries, Powerball and Mega Millions. Originally established to ‘enrich the lives of the residents and schools of the Great Lakes State, the Michigan Lottery has distributed over $14 billion to good causes such as the School Aid Fund.
