Montana Lottery

The Montana lottery was established in 1986 following a state referendum in which 69% of voters approved its creation. Operates began a year later with the introduction of a $1 scratch-card called Pot of Gold. Over 1000 retailers participated in the launch.

Since then, over $300 million has been paid out in prize money while more than $142 million has been donated to good causes. The Montana Lottery is administered by the state government and is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association.
