Washington Lottery

Washington’s Lottery was created in 1982 with the intention of raising money for state programs. It is overseen by a five-member commission and features a mixture of both draw-based and instant games. Currently there are five traditional lottery games including the multi-state lottery games, Mega Millions and Powerball. The majority of lottery proceeds are donated to the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account with the remainder distributed to the Education Legacy Trust Account, the Economic Development Reserve Account, the Problem Gambling Account, and the Stadium and Exhibition Centre.
