Finland Lottery

The Finnish Lottery is administered by betting agency, Veikkhaus Oy, which was set up in 1940 by the Football Association of Finland and the Worker’s Sports Federation (Oy Tippaustoimisto AB). The first national lottery game was unveiled in 1971 and immediately proved popular with the general public.

Today, an estimated 70% of Finns take part annually with the national lottery accounting for over a third of Veikkhaus’ sales. Profits are allocated by the Ministry of Education and distributed to good causes in the arts, science, sport and society.
